Job summary

Job description

What we’re looking for:

Oversees plant operations to meet the operating plan. When needs exceed the capability of the shift, leads the efforts to acquire other resources to resolve the issue(s).

Prioritized Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform necessary work in inspecting, loading, and unloading tank wagons, totes and rail cars.
• Drive Yard Mule and Rail track mobile.
• Perform necessary work in unloading, filling, and loading drums on box trucks.
• Maintain and record all inventory changes and perform necessary work for blending of products.
• Maintain current, detailed knowledge and understanding of all shipping equipment, and chemicals that are loaded or unloaded, and contents of Shipping Procedure Manual, efficient in SAP inventory, labels, bolts, etc.
• Responsible for adherence to safety instructions applicable to work performed and for adherence to general safety instructions applicable to all plant employees and others.
• Participate in Plant Emergency Response Team.
• Make out reports, record data, and input information into appropriate systems.
• Write Start Work and Hot Work Permits for maintenance and create work orders.
• Maintain good housekeeping habits to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and order of work area and equipment.
• Ensure efforts are in line with all elements of Process Safety Management.

Other general responsibilities:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Indorama company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Knowledge of Inspection and Grounding of rail cars.
• Develop energy isolation procedures once qualified.
• Understanding and handling EO and DOT requirements.
• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs. SAP experience preferred.

Education / Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
• Associate degree in Process Technology with 2+ years of experience.
• 5 years of chemical plant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
