Job summary

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited is seeking a Process Operator to monitor and control plant operations in our Texas facility. You will respond to alarms, adjust process parameters, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant operating experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting, plus strong written and verbal communication and teamwork. Overtime may be required to support production needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operating experience in a process industry (petrochemical, refinery)
• TWIC credential or ability to obtain one
• Proficiency with SAP, internet, email, and Microsoft Office
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms, graphics, SOPs, panels, gas detection, interlocks, and UPS systems.
• Make process adjustments following procedures, quality plans, and daily instructions.
• Record logs and write work requests for repairs to maintain performance.
• Track production parameters and ensure safety equipment is operational.
• Respond to emergencies by following safety procedures.
• Coordinate actions with field operators during weather events and shutdowns.
• Monitor sample results and take corrective actions when out of spec.
• Log time sheets, track overtime, and participate in shift hand-offs.
• Participate in audits, investigations, and health, safety, and environmental initiatives; maintain housekeeping.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and EHS initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Monitor DCS alarms, graphics, standard operating conditions, panels, gas detection systems, interlocks, and UPS systems.
• Make process adjustments to maintain control of the process while following operating procedures, quality control plans, daily instructions, plant rules, and government guidelines.
• Record information on logs and forms and write work requests for repairs to achieve operating excellence and environmental stewardship.
• Track chemical production activities, temperatures, pressures, and levels; ensure safety equipment (alarms, interlocks) is operational and not bypassed.
• Respond to emergencies (loss of power, steam, cooling water, instrument air, fire, dangerous situations) by following emergency procedures and using safety equipment.
• Coordinate actions with field operators and adjust process parameters for weather‑related events, including system shutdowns if necessary.
• Monitor sample results; request additional samples and take corrective actions when lab results are out of specification.
• Log employee time sheets, track overtime hours, and participate in shift hand‑offs and key operator communication meetings.
• Participate in audits, investigations, HAZOPs, PHAs, and quality initiatives; maintain good housekeeping of equipment, control rooms, and production areas.
• Ensure compliance with integrated management system requirements (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality, responsible care).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Process Operating Technology strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant operating experience in a process industry (petrochemical, refinery, pulp & paper); console operating experience preferred.
• For internal candidates only, 1 year of relevant operator experience at the site is required.
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or the ability to obtain one.
• Proficiency with SAP, internet, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work extra hours, including overtime, if required by staffing needs.
• Work collaboratively with team members of diverse backgrounds.
