Job summary

Evergreen Medical Services (EMS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform medical gas compliance and environmental testing in hospitals and healthcare facilities across the Chicago and Indianapolis region.

You will travel daily in your own company vehicle, handle 50–100 lb equipment, and provide accurate documentation while ensuring safety standards are met. This hands-on role offers training and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Healthcare environment experience is a plus.

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be out in the field every day — visiting hospitals and healthcare facilities, performing medical gas compliance and environmental testing, and building real relationships with customers who count on you. If you like hands‑on work, solving problems, and staying on the move, this is the job for you.

Your Day-to-Day Environment
  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory, driving about 30–300 miles per day
  • Work independently out of your own company‑provided service vehicle
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100lbs while standing and walking for most of the day
  • Some overnight travel required
  • Work may include early mornings, or later evenings based on hospital scheduling needs
What You'll Take Ownership Of
  • Perform airflow and environmental testing in hospital and healthcare environments
  • Support air balancing and ventilation verification across multiple hospital facilities
  • Work in active healthcare settings, including mechanical and hard‑to‑reach areas
  • Conduct testing during off‑hours when required to support hospital operations
  • Travel to healthcare facilities across the Chicago and Indianapolis region
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare and safety standards
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to hospital staff and internal teams

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree is a plus)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work
  • 1–3 years of experience in air balancing, environmental/airflow testing, industrial hygiene, EHS, mechanical/facilities work, or healthcare compliance — or a degree in a related field (recent graduates welcome).
  • Certifications such as NEEB, AABC, or air balancing accreditation are strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
