Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Environmental Technician in the Birmingham area to join a team focused on safely handling hazardous waste and compliant disposal. You will learn environmental regulations, perform consolidation, treatment, storage and transport of hazardous waste, and complete documentation accurately while operating forklifts and moving containers throughout the day.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to lift 50 pounds, and outdoor work in all climates; we offer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Stand and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
• Able to read labels and documentation; drive forklifts safely.
• Able to wear PPE including respirator and safety gear.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport or dispose of hazardous waste per regulations.
• Operate forklift and other equipment to move containers.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Load and unload trailers and move materials within storage areas.
