Job summary

Veolia in Birmingham, AL is hiring an Environmental Technician I to join a dedicated team handling hazardous waste consolidation, treatment, storage, transport and disposal in line with environmental regulations.

The role requires physical activity, lifting up to 50 pounds, forklift operation, and ability to work outdoors in all weather while following safety procedures. Training is provided to ensure compliance and accuracy in documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to operate a forklift and wear PPE.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled areas.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Operate a forklift and move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly per regulations and customer policies.
