Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking an Environmental Technician to join a team responsible for hazardous waste handling, site cleaning, and regulatory compliance. You’ll learn environmental rules and perform consolidation, treatment, storage, transport, and disposal tasks following safety and company policies.

The role is physically active: lifting up to 50 pounds, operating forklifts, and working outdoors in all conditions with PPE.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Stand and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Visual acuity to read labels; depth perception to drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled areas.
• Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing (preferred).
• Basic computer skills to complete web-based training.
• Ability to understand written and verbal English.
• Occasionally work nights, weekends and variable schedules.
• Polite and professional with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Move containers to storage and treatment areas using a forklift.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Operate forklift and other mobile equipment.
• Follow applicable regulations and customer policies.
