Job summary

OSHR, in partnership with the Division of Temporary Solutions, seeks an Environmental Technician I to support field data collection and biologist assistance in the NCDEQ Washington Regional Office area. Responsibilities include creel census interviews and data collection at waterbody access points.

The position is temporary with no leave or retirement benefits; weekend work is required and there is a potential health plan option for long-term eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or equivalent.
• Equivalency by education and/or experience may apply as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Technician I conducts creel census interviews at waterbody access points in ASMA within NCDEQ Washington Regional Office area.
• Determines fishing location, fishing time, catch, species identification, size and other biological parameters.
• Organizes, codes and compiles data for computer storage and analysis. Weekend work is required. Home-based position.
