Job summary

AGEISS Inc. is seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to work onsite at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) Tacoma, WA, to support the hazardous waste program.

The role requires handling hazardous waste, completing required certifications (Hazmat, HAZWOPER), and coordinating with DoD/OSHA-regulated procedures, with daily duties including labeling, data reporting, and customer support.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL with Hazmat or able to obtain.
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of procedures for moving, handling, packaging and shipping hazardous waste.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DoD, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations preferred.
• Ability to drive forklifts and operate warehouse tools and equipment.

Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to work onsite at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) Tacoma, Washington, to support the hazardous waste program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Management of hazardous waste labeling, collection, storage, and transportation.
• Experience using HMID and Enterprise, Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health- Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) programs for tracking hazardous waste, approving processes, preparing shipments, data pulls and ad-hoc reporting.
• Assist with compilation of monthly report of office activities.
• Customer support including answering phones and emails.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Commercial Driver License (Class A or B) with Hazmat certification or ability to obtain once hired
• Current 40-hr HAZWOPER or ability to obtain once hired
• Knowledgeable of the procedures and precautions necessary for moving, handling, packaging, and shipping of hazardous waste (HW)
• Working knowledge of Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to HW and hazardous materials
• Familiarity with OSHA, DoD, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations preferred
• Ability to drive forklifts and operate warehouse tools and equipment (i.e. drum lifts, pallet jack, etc.)
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required
• Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred or the ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required
• Fieldwork includes, but not limited to, outside weather conditions and walking on uneven terrain
