Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. in Foster City, CA seeks an Environmental Technical Studies Manager (FT - Hybrid) to lead the Environmental Planning practice.

The role covers Air Quality, GHG, Health Risk Assessments, Energy and Noise/Vibration assessments, combining technical leadership with project management and staff mentorship. The candidate will guide a new in-house Technical Services Team, pursue growth opportunities, and ensure regulatory compliance across CEQA/NEPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, Geography, Planning or related field (or in process).
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in air quality and/or noise compliance, including leadership and project management roles.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local air quality and climate change laws such as the Clean Air Act and related CA programs.
• Deep understanding of CEQA/NEPA processing requirements and environmental consulting practices.
• Experience with modeling software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Technical Manager for specialized technical studies.
• Develop a Technical Studies Business Plan with growth benchmarks.
• Lead and review technical modeling for Air Quality, Health Risk Assessments, GHG, Energy, and Noise/Vibration.
• Prepare, review and finalize technical studies and CEQA/NEPA documentation.
• Manage team budget, performance and workload to targets.
• Recruit, mentor and supervise staff to foster collaboration and growth.
• Identify market opportunities and participate in client proposals.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
