Job summary

CSG Consultants is seeking a Technical Studies Manager to lead the Environmental Planning practice. They will oversee air quality, GHG, Health Risk Assessments, energy and noise studies, ensuring CEQA/NEPA compliance while mentoring staff and driving business development.

The role requires a strong technical background, leadership experience, and the ability to build a growing Technical Services team across California. Hybrid schedule and client-facing duties are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, Geography, Planning or related field (or in process).
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in air quality and/or noise compliance, including leadership and project management roles.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local air quality laws and climate change programs; CEQA/NEPA familiarity.
• Deep understanding of environmental consulting industry and processing requirements; CEQA/NEPA knowledge.
• Expert knowledge of modeling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting to public or clients.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Technical Studies team and serve as Technical Manager for specialized studies.
• Develop a Technical Studies Business Plan with growth benchmarks.
• Lead and review technical modeling for Air Quality, Health Risk Assessments, GHG, Energy and Noise/Vibration.
• Prepare and finalize studies in CEQA/NEPA compliance and regulations.
• Manage team budget, performance and workload to meet targets.
• Recruit, mentor and supervise staff to maintain high performance and collaboration.
• Identify market opportunities and participate in client proposals.
