Job summary
Bechtel Corporation is seeking an Environmental, Sustainability, Community & Permits Manager for a Phoenix project. You will lead environmental management, sustainability, and permitting activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Bechtel standards.
The role reports to the Project ESH Manager and requires on-site leadership for a heavy civil EPC project, with travel to field sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master in environmental sciences or related field.
- 13–15 years of relevant experience, or 17–19 years with advanced degree.
- Experience leading diverse teams or strong willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental management, sustainability and permitting activities.
- Coordinate with ESH management on issues and support.
- Work with engineering, construction, procurement to gather permit submittals.
- Oversee environmental studies and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Engage with regulatory authorities, NGOs, and communities.
- Provide guidance on mitigation measures for environmental challenges.
- Develop and implement site-specific environmental plans and risk assessments.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical direction.
