Job summary

Bechtel is conducting an Environmental, Sustainability, Community & Permits Manager search for a large EPC heavy civil hydro project in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead environmental management, permitting, and sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Bechtel standards.

Reporting to the Project ESH Manager, you will mentor an environmental team, interact with regulators and NGOs, and drive risk-aware, stakeholder-focused environmental planning for the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental sciences or related field with 13–15 years experience or 17–19 years total experience (intl equivalent).
• Experience leading diverse teams or strong appetite to learn.
• Experience in environmental assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects (SEA, EIA or ESIA).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on assessment methods, mitigation measures and controls, sustainability, regulatory requirements and Bechtel standards.
• Coordinate with ESH Management on significant issues and support.
• Work with engineering, construction, startup, subcontracts, procurement, project controls and document control to obtain permit documentation and submittals.
• Oversee studies to integrate environmental and social considerations into compliance.
• Supervise consultants conducting environmental surveys and permitting development.
• Coordinate progress meetings with regulators and stakeholders to manage project compliance.
