Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental Safety & Health Area Lead to implement and oversee ESH programs for a major project in Cheyenne, WY. The role involves field and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with Bechtel and regulatory requirements, reporting to the Deputy ESH Manager.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree with extensive ESH leadership experience, and is prepared to work in outdoor field conditions, manage data, and coordinate cross-functional teams across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent; 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years total experience.
• Experience leading a team of Environmental, Safety and Health professionals.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 Management System standards.
• Ability to provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ESH disciplines to implement Bechtel’s ESH program and Management System.
• Lead risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring of ESH issues.
• Prepare communications and reports for program execution and records retention.
• Coordinate incident notifications and investigations; prepare investigation reports.
• Support employee training, emergency preparedness, and QA programs.
