FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES seeks an ENVIRONMENTAL SUPERVISOR I to oversee Environmental Specialists in protecting native and cultivated flora across Florida. The role emphasizes coordinating training, performance appraisals, and staffing decisions while ensuring program budgets and resources are used efficiently.

Incumbents will lead investigations, enforce division policies, and prepare periodic reports.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience as Environmental Specialist I or higher with the State.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2.5 years in apiculture, environmental protection, regulation, or health; or related sciences.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 1 year of relevant experience.

Mansioni

• Plan, assign, supervise and direct Environmental Specialists in flora protection and regulation.
• Develop training plans, perform performance appraisals and approve attendance and leave.
• Manage program budgets and resources, ensuring accountability and compliance.
• Evaluate workloads, supervise records accuracy, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Prepare monthly activity reports and coordinate field operations during emergencies.
