This Environmental Specialist III position performs highly technical, professional work under the direction of the Environmental Administrator for the Waste Cleanup Program’s Federal Programs Section within the Division of Waste Management located in Tallahassee, Florida. The primary duties of the Environmental Specialist III include providing technical and regulatory review of complex environmental assessment and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, discipline-specific knowledge, leadership skills, adaptive management knowledge and skills, and be highly effective in both the team and autonomous environment. This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
Must complete a 24-Hour OSHA Safety Training successfully within six months of employment. (Training to be paid for or provided by the State of Florida, if required.).
