Job summary

Cherokee Federal in Hawaii seeks an Environmental Specialist (Entry) to support environmental programs, compliance assessments, technical reports, and data products. You will help transfer and organize records from Navy systems to Air Force repositories and maintain SharePoint repositories and NexGen IT documentation.

• Support permit applications, regulatory correspondence, inspections, corrective-action tracking, and compliance reporting.
• Assist with environmental inspections and field activities involving water, soil, asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, wildlife, and facility compliance.
• Assist with hazardous-material surveys and technical evaluations of environmental-service proposals.
• Collect and analyze environmental data and support weekly reports, briefings, meeting materials, and stakeholder communications.

Basic Qualifications

• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
• This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC), the ability to pass the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance to acquire a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military facility or infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Air Force or DoD environmental compliance, natural resources, hazardous materials, environmental records, or environmental data management.
• Familiarity with NexGen IT, SharePoint, and environmental project documentation.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural-science field from an accredited institution within the 50 United States.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
