Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Swing Shift Environmental Services Associate at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. This full-time role runs 3:00pm–11:30pm, includes every weekend, and covers 40 hours per week with 10% shift differential for the swing shift.

You will perform general housekeeping to meet Joint Commission standards, including cleaning discharged rooms and assigned areas, following infection prevention practices and safety guidelines.

Job Description

Swing Shift position (3:00pm - 11:30pm). Includes working EVERY Weekend with 2 days off during the week. This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

• Pay Rate: Depending on experience Eligible for shift differential due to working Afternoon / Evening Shift. (10% for Swing)
• Shift Details: - Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk

This position starts in the evening at 3:00pm. Shifts will be 8 hours in length. Will be required to work EVERY Weekend.

• Located in the Environmental Services Department at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT
• Additional Details: This role will be cleaning discharge rooms and assigned areas.
• One year hospital cleaning experience preferred*

Qualifications

• Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
• Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)

Essential Functions

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
• Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typical includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
