Job summary

Mary Free Bed is seeking an EVS Tech for the 1st shift in Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment and assisting with various duties throughout the facility.

Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, with every other weekend and every other holiday. Compensation starts from $18.00 per hour and is based on experience at this not-for-profit rehabilitation hospital specializing in comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred; work permit may be required.
• Ability to communicate through the oral and/or written process and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas, such as administrative offices, public lavatories, lounges, and public areas.
• Sweeps, dusts, dust mops and wet mops floors and stairways, spots carpets, and buffs hard floors.
• Collects trash and refuse from work areas and completes appropriate disposal.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes baths, lavatories, and shower/sink fixtures.
• Stocks paper and soap products, etc. as necessary.
• Dusts, washes, sponge mops, sanitizes, and extracts furniture.
• Cleans and polishes glass surfaces, walls, windowsills, window frames, doors, and registers.
• Scrubs bathroom tiles, woodwork, lights, and vents.
• Maintains equipment and materials in a clean and orderly manner.
• Assists with setups, linen delivery, mail delivery, general deliveries, etc.
• Vacuums and edges carpeted areas as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned by manager
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
• This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
• Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
