Responsibilities

• Maintains department policies, quality assurance, safety and infection control standards.
• Dusts furniture and cleans fixtures; mops floors and polishes surfaces.
• Operates housekeeping mechanical equipment.
• Moves furniture as needed for cleaning procedures.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Removes waste and soiled linens following proper procedures.
• Cleans patient rooms and prepares for the next occupant with isolation procedures when required.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
