Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Environmental Services Technician performs general cleaning services for the Health System, assists in training other departmental employees, and practices excellent customer service skills. The schedule is 2:00pm – 10:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay is based on experience, starting at $16.54 per hour, with a compensation range from $16.54 to $25.24. Requirements include a High School diploma (Required).

Qualifications

• High School education required.
• Experience in environmental services or cleaning preferred.
• Ability to follow infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Collects and transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Dusts and mops tiled floors; machine scrubs and power buffs floors as assigned.
• Follows infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions, and hand hygiene.
• Maintains equipment in clean, operable condition and reports repair needs to supervisor.
• Mixes, uses and disposes of chemicals according to directions.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
• Polishes furniture, doors, chrome, stainless steel, etc.
• Replenishes supplies.
• Terminally cleans isolation rooms, surgical rooms and patient rooms as needed.
