Environmental Services Technician

Environmental Services Technician performs general cleaning services for the Health System, assists in training other departmental employees, and practices excellent customer service skills.

Schedule: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm with weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay: Starting at $16.14 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects and transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Dusts, mops, and wet mops tiled floors.
• Machine scrubs and power buffs floors as assigned.
• Follows all infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions, and hand hygiene.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean, operable condition, assists with preventative maintenance and reports repair needs to supervisor immediately.
• Mixes, uses and disposes of chemicals according to directions.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
• Polishes furniture, doors, chrome, stainless steel, etc.
• Replenishes supplies.
• Terminally cleans isolation rooms, surgical rooms and patient rooms as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).

Compensation

Estimated compensation range: $16.14 – $24.21 per hour, based on experience.
