Job summary

Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a full-time environmental services worker to clean and disinfect patient care areas and support safety and infection control throughout the facility.

You will follow established procedures with minimal supervision, organize cleaning tasks, and collaborate with nursing and other departments while protecting patient and staff confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: Prefer high school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Prefer 1 to 2 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient care and treatment rooms.
• Follow cleaning, disinfection, infection control and safety procedures.
• Work with minimal supervision; organize cleaning duties and prioritize tasks.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with nursing and other departments.
• Protect confidentiality of patient and staff information.

Job description

Schedule: Full-time, 6am-2:30pm, alternating weekends and holidays

Job Specific Competencies:

• Demonstrates skill in cleaning/disinfecting a variety of rooms used for patient care and treatment.
• Is knowledgeable of procedures for cleaning, disinfecting, infection control, and safety.
• Is able to work with minimal supervision. Is able to organize cleaning duties and prioritize work to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
• Maintains collaborative working relationships with nursing and other departments.
• Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.

Qualifications:

• Education: Prefer high school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Prefer 1 to 2 years of work experience.

Pay Range: $18.25 - $20.00 per hour

Starting Rate: Based on experience
