Environmental Services Supervisor Hospital at Riverside Health
Overview
The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the team members’ day‑to‑day operation. The supervisor creates work schedules, evaluates performance, resolves employee complaints, and ensures the quality of work, department productivity, morale, and positive working relationships with medical staff. The supervisor also enforces facility and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Location: Onancock, Virginia
What You Will Do
- Interview, select, and onboard team members; provide training in accordance with RHS policies and regulatory environmental care standards, including onboarding, annual recertification, and as needed.
- Assist in maintaining a safe patient care environment by consistently complying with RHS, DNV, state, and regulatory standards to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Conduct daily inspections in the area of responsibility to ensure quality and infection control measures are met, documenting findings and forwarding reports to the department manager.
- Ensure the team understands and responds effectively to suggestions and concerns from patients, visitors, personnel, medical staff, and leadership.
- Organize work for self and direct reports.
- Ensure employees demonstrate an acceptable level of competence, resulting in high‑quality work performance.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience
- 1 year supervisory experience in housekeeping (Preferred)
- 1 year healthcare housekeeping experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- AHA Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) (Preferred)
