Job summary

Talking Stick Resort is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Manager to lead the Environmental Services Department, ensuring the casino, public, and employee areas are clean and inviting.

You will direct the EVS team, develop schedules, train staff, and enforce safety standards while coordinating with facilities leadership to maintain high standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5 years related management experience in a casino, hotel or resort environment.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's license and meet MVR requirements to be authorized to use company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicates to subordinates individual understanding and teamwork.
• Provides leadership and oversees the operation of the EVS Department.
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the operation.
• Understands, adheres to, communicates and stresses departmental and company policies and procedures to all employees.
• Ensures assignments are initiated and completed in a timely manner.
• Maintains knowledge of various equipment, supplies and solutions and is able to instruct employees in their use.
• Maintains knowledge of various cleaning methods.
• Oversees the collection of linen & trash.
• Supervises or performs training for all shifts.
• Ensures compliance with all safety standards and codes.
• Plans weekly & monthly work schedules; schedules and approves paid time off.
• Reviews daily shift logs and corrects incidents & irregularities that may occur.
• Maintains all equipment in safe working order.

Summary

Manages and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in ensuring the cleanliness and for maintaining the overall attractive appearance of the casino, public and employee areas of the casino operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages the EVS Assistant Manager and the Coordinator-EVS in the Environmental Services Department (EVS) but is responsible for all employees in the EVS Department. This individual is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Leadership Job Expectations: Fostering ECM Development through Pathways to Success Program

• Program Awareness and Communication: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Pathways to Success programs. Ensure all ECMs are informed about relevant opportunities.
• Mentorship and Coaching: Actively mentor ECMs, offering guidance on career pathways and facilitating connections to additional coaching resources as needed.
• Resource Allocation: Allocate time and budget to support ECMs’ participation in developmental activities, such as courses, certifications, or conferences.
• Development Planning: Collaborate with ECMs to create and regularly review individual development plans, setting measurable goals and tracking progress.
• Barrier Removal: Identify and address obstacles that may hinder ECMs’ career growth, advocating for their needs within the organization.

• Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Education And/or Experience

High School diploma or GED required; 5 years related management experience in a casino, hotel or resort environment required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's license and meet MVR requirements to be authorized to use company vehicles.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills and knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software; Microsoft Office applications preferred. Working knowledge of automated ordering and automated work order system required.
