Job summary

Bryan College Of Health Sciences is seeking a healthcare supervisor to lead and oversee staff, hire and train, and ensure safety and sanitation standards across the facility. You will mentor team members, coordinate department activities, and communicate with medical staff to achieve objectives.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred) and at least three years of progressive supervisory experience in a health care or hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible supervisory or management experience required.
  • Prior work experience in a health care or hospital environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining and evaluating of staff.
  • Provides support, guidance and counseling to staff to ensure compliance with facility sanitation and safety requirements and policies.
  • Develops and implements area orientation and training for staff.
  • Assesses, recommends and coordinates staff development needs.
  • Communicates and interfaces with personnel, medical staff, patients, families and outside resources in order to accomplish work objectives.
  • Operates and maintains applicable facility equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains department’s policies, procedures and protocols. Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develops and implements improved procedures and practices when appropriate.
  • Monitors department quality assurance activities and submits reports as scheduled.
  • Develops expertise through in-service training and continuing education.
  • Coordinates department activities through delegation and empowerment of team leaders and staff.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives and obtains data required for planning department activities such as new commitments, status of work in progress and problems encountered. Prepares reports and records on department activities for management.
  • Assigns or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities and disseminates plans to team leads and staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher preferred. Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible supervisory or management experience required. Prior work experience in a health care or hospital environment preferred.
