Maintenance Assistant

Casual Call; Daytime/Weekday Shifts: This person will assist on an as-needed basis.

Eagle Crest Communities is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our facility maintenance team at Eagle Crest South Campus in La Crosse. This role involves supporting the general upkeep of the facility and grounds.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with apartment turnover tasks such as painting and carpet maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance like furnace filter changes, light bulb replacements, and water temperature checks.
• Provide maintenance services including unclogging drains, plunging toilets, cable TV hookups, and addressing other resident requests.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports.
• Store deliveries properly, clean designated areas, and perform various other tasks as needed.
• Survey buildings and grounds, and report any unclean or unsafe conditions, faulty equipment, or system issues to the supervisor.

What You’ll Need

• Some knowledge and skills in maintenance, equipment monitoring, and security devices are beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance, electricity, heating, plumbing, and the use of equipment such as vacuum cleaners, lawn tools, and small hand tools is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Our Wages

• Starting wage is between $18.90+ per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Wages will be reviewed at 6 months— higher pay for high performance!
