Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is hiring an Environmental Service Aide at our Baskin Ridge, NJ location. This part-time role supports a safe, clean, healing environment for patients, families and staff. Training is provided; no prior Environmental Services experience required.

You will perform daily cleaning, handle waste, operate cleaning equipment, and assist with room setups. Schedule is 20 hours per week, 7pm-11pm, with every other weekend and rotating holidays; opportunity to

Qualifications

• No prior Environmental Services experience required; training will be provided to succeed.
• Ability to operate or learn to use floor-cleaning equipment and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, pushing) for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting at least 30 lbs.
• Basic computer knowledge to support communication and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and thorough cleaning using established guidelines.
• Safely remove general, infectious waste and soiled linen following procedures and safety standards.
• Handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
• Use equipment such as cardboard baler and trash compactor properly.
• Support unit operations with small moves or room setups as needed.
• Participate in department meetings and required training sessions.
• Complete additional projects as directed by leadership.
• Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, safety, and workflow.
