Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Director

Cedarhurst of Springfield IL, a regional healthcare provider and a true friend of older adults, is seeking a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Maintenance Director at our community.

As a Maintenance Director, you will have the opportunity to connect with and positively impact the lives of our residents daily. Your responsibilities will include providing a safe living environment by overseeing and delivering quality maintenance repairs, ensuring the community is well-maintained both inside and outside, including grounds.

You will collaborate with the community’s Executive Director and management team to ensure a pleasant and safe living experience for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all interior areas, including cleaning and shampooing carpets and furniture, window cleaning, and vinyl floor maintenance and replacement.
  • Maintain grounds, including outside building repairs, lawn maintenance (in cooperation with landscapers), and garbage removal.
  • Implement and document preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise housekeeping personnel as needed.
  • Prepare apartments for new residents, including painting, carpet installation, vinyl floor replacement, and ceiling fan installation.
  • Maintain fire safety and emergency records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including MSDS distribution.
  • Inspect apartments for hazards, report issues, and follow up.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, maintaining quality assurance records.
  • Perform janitorial tasks and maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience or accredited maintenance training preferred.
  • Applicable state licensure, if required.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair, painting, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Basic technical and mechanical skills for routine repairs.
  • Passion for working with older adults.
  • Good communication skills, initiative, and teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and be on call.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs independently and 100 lbs with assistance.
