Job Description

Performs cleaning duties as well as other tasks performed by the Environmental Services Department. Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs all cleaning functions following established procedures in a timely manner, using properly labeled cleaning supplies for each task.
2. Maintains tools and equipment in good condition, uses supplies economically, and cleans various areas including beds, blinds, ceilings, fixtures, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, walls, windows, vents, televisions, etc., following established procedures.
3. Washes and hangs draperies and cubicle curtains; washes and polishes furniture and metal surfaces.
4. Sweeps walkways and outside perimeter of the facility where applicable; sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, vacuums, and buffs floors.
5. Replenishes liquid soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue; moves furniture as needed; distributes clean linen carts; collects soiled linen and delivers to the linen department.
6. Collects garbage, cleans, and lines trash receptacles with liners; transports garbage to designated areas and disposes of non-infectious waste appropriately.
7. Handles infectious waste by depositing red bags in holding carts, transporting to Sani-Pak area, and operating the Sani-Pak receptacle.
8. Moves furniture for carpet installation, floor work, or department relocations, and replaces furniture after the work is completed.
9. Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and podiums for meetings or events, and removes trash before subsequent setups.
10. Performs related duties as required, considering all responsibilities as essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
