Summary

Under the direction of the Manager or Administrative Supervisor, the Maintenance Housekeeper maintains hospital and hospital-owned properties, including refinishing, scrubbing floors, shampooing, bonneting carpets, furniture, and performing routine housekeeping functions. This includes major projects, moves, and individual requests.

Responsibilities
  • Clean all environmental surfaces following universal precautions.
  • Refinish floors through machine scrubbing, stripping, and applying floor finish.
  • Wear and respond to pager for routine requests.
  • Shampoo furniture and extract carpets as necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of universal precautions, MSDS, and recycling operations.
  • Dispose of, transfer, or store hospital furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Remove, wash, and rehang curtains and window treatments.
  • Wet mop rooms, hallways, stairs, bathrooms, and offices.
  • Gather and dispose of refuse and soiled linen following precautions.
  • Maintain hospital property and report repairs needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in hospitality medical housekeeping.
  • Experience operating housekeeping-related equipment.
