Job summary

UPMC Shadyside is seeking a full time EVS Associate to join the team on the second shift (3pm-11pm). This role involves cleaning patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment to meet hospital standards, moving equipment, and sometimes cleaning rooms designated for isolation or COVID patients.

Ability to stand for long periods and lift and bend as needed is required. You will follow established cleaning procedures, restock supplies, and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Make beds, follow cleaning procedures for patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms.
• Inspect and ensure areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap across locations.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment per procedures.
• Maintain equipment in clean working condition; report problems to supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, wash walls, and spot carpets as assigned.
• Move/adjust blinds and curtains as needed.
• Prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
• No contact with medications is allowed.

UPMC Shadyside is seeking a full time EVS Associate to join the team! This position will work second shift hours, 3pm-11pm and does require weekend as well as holiday shifts. The perfect candidate for this position must be comfortable standing for majority of their shift, as well as lifting and bending. At times, you may be required to clean rooms designated for COVID-position or Isolation patients. Clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment, to meet Hospital and Department standards in order to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. Move equipment, furniture, boxes, etc. and remove and hang blinds and curtains.
