Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an onsite cleaner for evening shifts to maintain a safe and sanitary hospital environment at 55 Fruit Street. The role focuses on floor care, dusting, restroom sanitation, and general upkeep, contributing to a patient-focused care setting.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of hospital cleaning experience, with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors and surfaces.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, restrooms, and replenish supplies.
• Operate high- and low-speed cleaning machines as needed.
• Set up tables and chairs for events and assist with upkeep.
• Identify maintenance needs and report them to facilities.

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
• Picks up debris around the building.
• Operates and controls high- and low-speed stripping/buffing machines.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment for special events and normal hospital activities.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
