Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, safe healthcare environment across patient and non-patient areas. The role supports operations through cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and basic equipment use in the evening shift.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 0-1 year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and disinfection duties according to schedules and infection prevention standards.
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of waste following regulations.
  • Clean and service patient and non-patient areas to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support operations.
  • Operate and maintain environmental services equipment (floor machines, buffers).
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to staff.
  • Participate in departmental or unit meetings (min. eight per year).
  • Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Ensures assigned patient and non-patient care areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards.Does this position require Patient Care?NoEssential FunctionsPerform cleaning and disinfection duties in accordance with established schedules, infection prevention standards, and departmental procedures.Collect, transport, and dispose of waste streams according to regulatory and organizational guidelines.Clean and service assigned patient care and non-patient care areas to maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.Move furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout the medical center as needed to support operational needs.Operate and maintain environmental services equipment, including floor machines and buffers.Maintain patient rooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces in a clean and presentable condition.Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental services policies and procedures.Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.Participate in a minimum of eight departmental or unit meetings annually.Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff while supporting a positive healthcare environment.QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
