Dewberry is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Daphne, AL office to support Alabama’s CWA 401/WQC permits, federal 404/401 permitting, and related regulatory coordination with ADCNR and USFWS. The role includes field surveys, wetland delineation, and mentor responsibilities for staff.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Environmental Science (MS/PhD a plus) with 2+ years of experience, GIS proficiency, and familiarity with Alabama regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, or related field is required
• An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is a plus
• 2+ years of work experience is required
• Proficiency with ArcMap/GIS is preferred
• Knowledge of Alabama environmental regulations and permitting is preferred
• Professional Wetland Scientist and related credentials are preferred

Responsabilités

• Execute project activities with clients and regulatory agencies
• Coordinate field visits with clients and regulatory agencies
• Conduct soil, hydrology and vegetation inventory and species assessments
• Prepare environmental permit applications (CWA 401/404, NPDES) and post-permit compliance
• Document and summarize field investigations and analyses
• Prepare plans, maps, exhibits and documentation for approvals
• Provide client coordination and support proposal preparation and budgeting
• Develop project execution strategies and evaluate site conditions
