Job summary

InterAgency is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to join our Washington, D.C. area team.

You will work with senior staff on major resiliency and infrastructure projects, contributing to planning, design, permitting, and construction phases with a focus on compliance, resilience, and natural resource protection. The role involves preparing permit applications, NEPA analyses, and regulatory guidance for federal, state, and local agencies, while coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 3–7 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of Clean Water Act and related regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage federal, state, and local environmental permit applications.
• Assist in the preparation of NEPA documentation and analyses.
• Advise clients on environmental permitting strategies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Support the development of technical proposals and client deliverables.
• Prepare Environmental Management Plans and related compliance documentation.
• Support administration and compliance activities related to ESC and SWM programs.
• Mentor junior environmental staff through technical guidance and project collaboration.
