Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks an Environmental Staff Scientist with 2–5 years of experience to perform wetland and stream delineations, habitat characterizations, GPS data collection, and GIS work in support of environmental permitting. You will collect field data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Raleigh area.

The role involves travel and a 30%–60% field-to-office balance, with opportunities to contribute to permits, impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Ecological Science or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of environmental field experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform wetlands delineations per Army Corp of Engineers Delineation Manual.
• Assist in preparing applications for wetland verifications and permits to regulatory agencies.
• Assist in preparing natural resource reports and supporting documentation for site development.
• Facilitate permit procurement from jurisdictional agencies.
• Assist in preparing Threatened and Endangered Species Habitat Evaluations and correspondence with agencies.
• Assist in preparing environmental impact assessments and related documents.
• Prepare written correspondence and technical reports for outside agencies, clients, attorneys, and contractors.
