Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks an Environmental Staff Scientist to perform wetland and stream delineations, habitat characterizations, GPS data collection, and GIS work in Raleigh, NC with travel. 2–5 years of related experience and a BS in ecological or environmental sciences are preferred.

The role blends field and office work, supporting interdisciplinary teams of engineers, surveyors, and planners. Proficiency in ArcGIS/AutoCAD and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ecological/related science is preferred.
• 2–5 years of similar environmental field experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Familiar with ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
• Experience with GPS data collection and field data management.

Responsibilities

• Perform wetland delineations per Army Corps of Engineers standards.
• Assist with applications for wetland verifications and regulatory permits.
• Prepare and compile natural resource reports and supporting documentation.
• Facilitate permit procurement from regulatory agencies.
• Prepare habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species.
• Develop environmental impact assessments and technical reports.
