Job summary

Pond & Company is seeking a Scientist II to conduct environmental fieldwork, analyze data, and prepare technical reports and permit applications. You will mentor Scientist I staff, coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies, and contribute to project planning under senior staff guidance.

The role emphasizes regulatory knowledge, GIS/GPS data collection, and effective written communication in a team environment across DOT, Energy, and municipal projects.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in environmental discipline; MS preferred.
• 2-5 years as environmental consultant or regulatory specialist.
• Experience with wetland science, flora/fauna, and ecosystems of the southeastern US.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental studies including wetlands and species surveys.
• Analyze data and contribute to technical reports and permit applications.
• Mentor Scientist I staff and coordinate with clients and agencies.
• QA/QC deliverables and manage task timelines and budgets.
• Travel to project sites and support proposal writing.
