Job summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist I to support federal restoration projects from our Pleasanton, CA office. Travel up to 50% is expected, with field assignments across the Western US and occasional nationwide travel.

The role involves sampling groundwater and soil, data analysis, and contributing to deliverables such as RI Reports and work plans, while utilizing digital tools to enhance project delivery and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of directly related experience in the environmental industry.
• Strong technical writing and documentation experience with reports, memoranda and work plans.
• Experience with groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling methodologies.
• Experience with monitoring well drilling, logging, installation and sampling; boring logs review.
• Ability to work in a team with technical management staff.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure field operations are conducted safely per Site Safety/Health Plans.
• Participate in field teams for collection of water, soil, soil vapor, surface water and sediment samples.
• Oversee field subcontractors including drilling, monitoring wells, waste transport and disposal, and heavy equipment operation.
• Contribute to work plans and project deliverables (e.g., RI Reports, SSHP/HASPs, presentations).
• Assist with data entry, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data.
• Assist with proposals, cost estimates, and subcontractor procurement.
• Potentially assist with remedial system operations and maintenance services.
• Lead field teams collecting general field data and environmental samples.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to support documentation, data analysis and communications.
