Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Austin, TX office seeks an Environmental Scientist to conduct office and field activities related to environmental compliance projects and help develop plans, permit applications, and reports.

You will perform field investigations, data collection, and prepare environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to support recommendations and regulatory compliance. Travel overnight as needed and collaborate with a team of professionals.

Qualifications

• Civil or Environmental Engineering or Geology degree.
• 0-3 years expereince
• Preferred E.I.T. or G.I.T.
• Field and data collection focused
• Drilling oversight, USCS lithologic core documentation, well installation, sampling experience
• Subcontractor coordination
• Environmental media sampling - air, water, soil, waste
• Data analysis, table preperation, coordinating figures, report writing, and strong communication skills
• Previous internship experience preferred
• Ability to travel overnight and work extended hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Preparing environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to help interpret results and make recommendations for further action
• Preparing engineering calculations, complete application forms, and help compile permit applications for new and expanding industrial, energy, and other commercial enterprises
• Contributing to the preparation of environmental regulatory reports and plans
• Conducting field investigations, data collection, and site reconnaissance tasks
