Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer - Journeyman to support the U.S. Air Force Environmental Restoration Program.

The role provides Advisory and Assistance (A&AS) services to AFCEC/CZO and CZR, managing restoration projects, contract oversight, and data analysis to move sites toward closure. The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering or science, 3–10 years of experience, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline is required, master's substitution allowed based on experience.
• 3–10 years of experience in environmental restoration under RCRA and CERCLA.
• Knowledge of DERP, FAR, and contract vehicles; experience with ERP, SOWs, and IGEs.

Responsibilities

• Provide A&AS support to the Air Force environmental restoration program and oversee contracts.
• Review work plans, investigation reports, and progress reports for remediation projects.
• Conduct data gap analyses using ERPIMS and develop actions to move sites toward closure.
• Prepare statements of work and independent government estimates for remediation contracts.
• Present technical information to Air Force stakeholders and manage project teams.
