Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer - Journeyman to support the U.S. Air Force Environmental Restoration Program.

You will provide advisory and assistance services, oversee remediation contracts, develop scopes of work, and coordinate data analyses and reporting. The role requires 3–10 years of environmental restoration experience under RCRA/CERCLA, strong communication skills, and a DoD/NACI security clearance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline is required; substitution for a master’s degree based on experience.
• 3–10 years of environmental restoration experience under RCRA and CERCLA.
• PBR and ORC experience with one or more Federal agencies.
• Experience with contract acquisition processes including Air Force, GSA and USACE.
• Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, DERP and FAR.
• Experience interacting with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• U.S. Citizenship and DoD security clearance (NACI) required.
• Pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory and assistance (A&A S) support to Air Force environmental programs.
• Manage environmental restoration program processes and oversight of investigations.
• Deliver safety briefings and join remediation contractors into controlled areas.
• Develop statements of work and IGE for environmental contracts.
• Review contractor deliverables, reports, and schedules.
• Perform data gap analyses using ERPIMS and submit Data Gap reports.
• Refine yearly and outyear project requirements toward site closure.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and manage project teams to ensure timely deliverables.
• Maintain accurate installation documentation with current cleanup information.
• Assist with technical presentations to Air Force stakeholders.
