Job Description

Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Restoration Team in support of the Army Environmental Cleanup Program at facilities located primarily in DC, MD, NJ, and PA. This full-time position is remote but requires routine travel to Army Installations throughout the region for field visits and meetings, primarily in the DC/Baltimore area. The role may include support for compliance-related projects such as stormwater, spill prevention and response, or hazardous materials and waste.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • Experience in CERCLA/RCRA environmental cleanup projects
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Cleanup Program; familiarity with MD, NJ, PA, and NY regulatory requirements is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, work independently, and be responsive
  • Flexibility to serve in multiple roles and teams depending on the project
  • Ability to pass DoD security clearances and background checks
  • US citizenship required
Knowledge and Experience
  • Familiarity with CERCLA/RCRA program requirements related to Environmental Restoration
  • Experience with Remedial Investigations (RI), Feasibility Studies (FS), and site remediation projects
  • Experience with DoD cleanup projects is a plus
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing CERCLA/RCRA environmental reports
  • Familiarity with emerging contaminants such as PFAS
  • Experience providing environmental compliance support, including site visits and field work
  • Work experience with DoD, Maryland Department of the Environment, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, and D.C. Department of Energy & Environment is a plus
