HETI has a great opportunity for a Senior Geologist/Senior Environmental Scientist/Senior Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in the environmental field.

This role will be responsible for providing technical and business skills and contribute to advanced solutions in various sectors including environmental, chemical, commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and legal. This job is 100% remote.

The candidate should have experience managing consulting assignments, work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and be proficient in analysis and communication of information. They must work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making. The candidate should also be proficient in project management and demonstrate collaboration with colleagues throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Client Management & Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and outcomes.
• Collaborate with project teams, including environmental engineers, geologists, and technicians.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals, permits, and closure documentation.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive reports, including site investigation reports, risk assessments, remedial action plans, progress reports, and closure reports.
• Stay current on environmental regulations and guidelines.

Remediation Planning/Implementation:

• Develop and implement remediation plans based on site investigations and risk assessments.
• Design and oversee remediation strategies such as excavation, soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment, and in-situ bioremediation.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, guidelines, and permits during remediation.

Site Assessments:

• Manage and conduct site investigations to identify contamination sources, evaluate risks, and develop remediation strategies.
• Collect and analyze environmental samples in accordance with protocols and regulations.
• Perform data interpretation, risk assessment, and modeling to assess contamination extent and impact.

Quality Control:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
• Conduct audits and reviews to verify compliance and address discrepancies.

The Ideal Candidate should have:

• Current PE or PG license
• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field
• 10+ years’ experience in site investigations, remediation, and evaluations
• Solid understanding of environmental regulations and best practices
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of sampling techniques and laboratory analysis methods
