AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Arlington for Environmental Science Interns to join our Mid-Atlantic Region offices (PA, MD, or VA). The program offers hands-on experience in environmental design and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to work with experienced professionals across our global practice.

The internship begins May/June 2027, with a hybrid schedule including in-office work in VA, PA, NJ, or MD.

Responsibilities

• Working with the AECOM ecological team to become familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools.
• Assisting AECOM ecological teams in performing stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological field surveys.
• Assisting AECOM ecological teams with writing and developing field data sheets and reports.
• Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, or endangered and threatened species coordination.
• Creating field maps and report mapping through Geographic Information System (GIS) programs, specifically ESRI software.
• Reviewing desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments.
