Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Maintenance & Equipment technician for its Manufacturing department. You will disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment, apply chemicals, operate floor scrubber, and support sanitation across the facility.

This role requires forklift operation, GMP awareness, safety focus, and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed. You will collaborate with multiple departments to meet sanitation requirements and help maintain storage areas and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to push or pull heavy equipment.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift.
• Must demonstrate GMP adherence and safe working habits.
• Must lift in excess of 30 pounds frequently.
• Must communicate effectively and work well with others.
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and clean, sanitize, and reassemble production equipment.
• Apply chemicals on equipment and in environmental locations.
• Organize and clean kitchens, trash docks, and storage areas.
• Transport racks, tubs, cardboard, and equipment using forklift or pallet jack.
• Maintain cleanliness of walls, vents, doors, drains, and garbage cans.
• Coordinate with departments to meet sanitation needs using air and water hoses.
• Rinse out empty drums and help maintain chemical storage area.
• Operate and maintain floor scrubber.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
