This position is responsible for upholding Amphenol's moral and ethical obligations to a safe work environment by maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and continually working towards improvements in the workplace. The role involves procedure development and revisions, report submission, compliance auditing, and regulatory documentation. Promoting Environmental and Safety Department philosophies is essential to ensure that environmental and safety goals are met.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Possess working knowledge of chemical handling and safe work practices in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
- Demonstrate dedication to safety and environmental concerns in daily duties.
- Perform inspections and monitor manufacturing operations for environmental compliance, including equipment functionality and waste tank integrity, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure contractor personnel comply with Amphenol policies and safety requirements.
- Review accidents and incidents, conduct field audits, and report/manage corrective actions.
- Assist in maintaining Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
- Maintain and update SOPs for safe work practices and equipment, incorporating them into daily training.
- Conduct annual safety refresher training for Nashua facilities.
- Maintain logs and documentation related to permits and regulatory requirements.
- Handle workplace hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and exposure to chemicals safely.
- Capable of fitting into confined spaces such as manholes, trenches, and tanks.
- Use required safety equipment, including safety glasses, and other PPE like safety shoes, aprons, gloves, boots, face shields, and respirators when working in restricted areas.
- Responsible for hazardous waste sampling and data entry using Excel.
- Understand and maintain knowledge of emergency contingency plans and act as a first responder.
- Pursue and maintain NH Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certification, DOT training, and other relevant certifications annually.
- Support ROHS/Conflict Mineral data collection for sales and customer service teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, occupational safety and health, or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- 5-7 years of diverse EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in industrial hygiene and regulatory affairs.
- Excellent communication skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
