Job summary

Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd in Kentucky seeks an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader reporting to the VP of Operations. You will be accountable for safety and environmental compliance across plant operations, working with corporate EH&S to implement strategies and maintain permits and regulations, and assisting departments in achieving safety and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years managing the environmental function in a manufacturing site.
• Experience leading the safety function in a manufacturing site preferred.
• Previous experience in heavy industrial environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and statistical tools recommended.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support general safety and environmental compliance activities.
• Compile emissions inventories; organize emissions monitoring activities and report emissions data.
• Prepare and submit permit applications and required compliance reports.
• Manage safety, environmental and DOT training for employees.
• Respond to regulatory agency requests and enforcement actions.
• Provide general safety and environmental support to departments.
• Collaborate with internal functions to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Review and report safety and environmental incidents.
• Track corrective/remedial actions to closure.
• Assist in incident investigations and regulatory negotiations as needed.
• Manage EHS budget.
