Job summary

APTIM Federal Services, LLC is seeking a construction laborer to support excavation and restoration activities at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco. Work involves operating hand and power tools, shoveling, backfilling, and coordinating with heavy equipment operators on a hazardous site.

The role pays on the Federal prevailing wage scale under Davis-Bacon and requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving record.
• Dependable transportation and cell phone service.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Preferred applicant will have current OSHA HAZWOPER training.
• Minimum 1 year relevant construction experience and live locally (daily commute) to Hunter's Point.

Responsibilities

• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
• Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers: and mix, pour, and spread concrete
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
• Erect and disassemble shoring, braces, traffic barricades, and other temporary structures.
