Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for multiple projects at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco, CA. The role involves operating backhoes, excavators, bulldozers and related machines to excavate and backfill, with emphasis on safe, efficient work.

The selected candidate will meet OSHA excavation requirements, read survey stakes, pass pre-employment physicals and drug screens, and maintain a clean safety record in line with project policies. Local residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators for trenching and demolition.
• Ability to read survey stakes for alignment.
• Knowledge of OSHA excavation regulations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• HAZWOPER training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of construction experience and local to Hunters Point.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain equipment daily to ensure safe operation.
• Operate backhoes, excavators, bulldozers and other heavy equipment.
• Attach and disconnect accessories; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Comply with all safety policies and project requirements.
